Is it just me, or does Chloe seem like the constant victim of predominantly emotional pitfalls? Think about it:
- Clark dumps her at the Spring Formal (albeit for justifiable reasons) to save Lana [season 1] - She and Clark agree to be just friends despite the fact that she obviously still had feelings for him. [season 2] - Clark and Lana hookup. She witnesses their kiss while she still has feelings for Clark. [season 2] - Clark and Lana neglect (or so it appeared at the time) to be honest about their relationship. [season2] - The above incident drives her to strike the deal with Lionel Luthor from which she still feels occasional pangs of guilt. [season 2 - 4] - She was resumed dead but actually either in hiding or held captive [season 3/4] - She bears Clark's secret like a real trooper, wishing he would've trusted her enough to tell her himself. Meanwhile, Clark remains mysteriously clueless despite all the hints she's dropped (season 4).
Admittedly, Lana was almost always the damsel-in-distress throughout season 1 and had pretty much been to heck and back by the time season 4 finished, but doesn't Chloe seem to suffer in often more subtle ways throughout the series?
