Clois shippers have the unusual advantage that their ship is the canonical, destined relationship. Other ships by definition entail an AU/Elseworlds version of Superman mythology. But the question remains: how did this great American romance come to be? Given the current love-hate relationship between Clark and Lois on the show, one is made to wonder what exactly happens as time progresses that eventually leads them into each other's arms?
For my part, the most important thing that I think will need to change is Lois' perception of Clark. Right now, although she treats him fairly enough, she doesn't seem to have an exceptional amount of respect for him. The way things stand, the only way I could see Lois seeing Clark in a new light is discovering who/what he really is. Ironically, since she presumably falls in love with him or at least starts to feel something deep for him before she discovers the truth about Superman, that automatically rules that out. So she has to learn to respect Clark Kent the Man without any hints about his superheroic nature.
So, what do you think happens between the status quo on the show and Clark and Lois' wedding day to make a lasting relationship between the two plausible?
